Sunday August 13th we spoke in the Alameda Third ward - kind of our mission farewell. Bishop McCurdy had this plaque made for the church hall - we will get it when we return.
Not a very good picture - funny thing - we have the same clothes on!
Dave Dillon joined the church in Carbondale, Ill - he was a student of Harold's at SIU - and was impressed with the gospel because of Harold's example.
It was nice to catch up with Dave and Shereen - they want to serve a senior mission also - both attorneys - I'm sure the Lord can use their talents.
Eloise and Heidi Scott brought paper goods and a watermelon tray to the open house after church. Heidi was the RS Pres. in the singles ward we served a Church Service Mission in.
Mortensens came and had a good time seeing their old friends in the ward
Kate was Nursery Leader for Lauren and Rachel - their mother was RS Pres and I served as 2nd C - great family.
Wonderful sisters - many brought yummy food, and we enjoyed renewing friendships - we feel so much love and support from these wonderful people.
We have a couple of 'group' homes in the ward. One of the residents gave this to me after Sacrament meeting - I guess he drew it during the meeting - sweet event.
