We were told by some of the other senior couples who have visited Seoul to not miss the North Tower- is was a little bit of a hassle getting there but we sure were glad we did! The tower is in the background - we climbed up several steps and visited this monument to the young people who died in the battles for Korea to be an independent country after WWII.
The North Tower is on Mount Nansum - tallest mountain in the area. We rode this 20 person tram to the top.
The view from the observation deck - notice the shops and locks of love on the railings - like the bridges in Yekaterinburg!
Another view of the huge city.
These are ancient signal fires...they had these on all the tallest mountains and they used fire light by night and smoke by day to send signals about attacking enemies. Reminded us of our Native Americans who did something similar in pioneer days.
Pretty pagoda at the top ... kind provided shade near the top of the amphitheater - where we noticed people waiting for a program to begin - so we joined them!
We thought it was kind of funny to name this water - Sweat! but we were happy to purchase it.
