Typical House in 17th Century and Fort Ilim

The house was on the other side of this 'yard' the structure is the barn and then the carriage sheds.
Notice the different roofing use of half logs here - pretty smart we think.
This is Fort Ilim - only the last corner tower is original - some of it!  It was built in 1667!  The center gate is called The Savior Gate - also there is a small Church of Kazon - built in 1679.
Another view of the Fort - so similar to the ones built in the USA!
Secretary to the Commander of the Fort's front room, note the 'red' corner.
Wax replica of the Fort Commander - just a little creepy, we thought!
Loved this bookcase of old books.
