Young Missionaries

Our Devotional last evening was Elder Dallin Oaks and his wife ... wonderful missionary message and awesome singing.  The MTC choir has 1200 voices - and they sounded great! We learned today that:  "Talking is not teaching"... we must LISTEN also.   We also had an electronic apps training today - amazing what we can do to further the Lord's work with our electronic instruments.  About 600 new young missionaries came today - they have a red dot on their name tags so we can all welcome them - - one elder came a week late from Houston, doesn't have a companion, etc. All will work out!

These two sister missionaries are headed to Novostbrisk in another three weeks.  The one in pink is from Sandy, Utah and the other sister is Patricia McCabe from North Chesterfield, VA - she is in the Bonair Ward with Ben and Emilee Pike!!

This is their district - ALL headed to Novosibrisk in three weeks ... they were happy to hear we would be there on Tuesday!  They have language training for nine weeks - they have been here for six  - fun to get to know them a little bit - we had dinner together with the sisters.
Makes me happy to begin to relate to the young missionaries even before we get to Russia.  We taught a lesson to another senior couple this afternoon ... went well - really like teaching real people not pretend investigators!

  1. I love seeing the map of your mission - it is crazy huge! I didn't know there is a sister from Em's ward - super fun. I remember the senior missionaries being such a comfort and help on my mission - I don't know why exactly. Maybe because they could huge us and seemed so grandparent like. Love you - we will skype tonight.
